"Chicago" show photos added to The Gallery".
The Erie Playhouse production of "Chicago" opened to rave reviews!
Website review samples below:

"One of "THE" best shows we've seen at Playhouse!! The cast was right-on...Chris Bucci was outstanding in that role..."

"...Chris Bucci was - again and as always - outstanding. "

"What a spectacular show...Chris Bucci's rendition of Cellophane Man was perfect!"

"Kudos to the entire cast...[Bucci] gets better each time we see him."

[June 12, 2009]

The Erie Playhouse is mounting a production of the highly successful Broadway smash "Chicago" in September. Chris has been cast as the hapless husband Amos Hart who is, at least to everyone around, Mr. Cellophane. More as the show grows near...

[April 13, 2009]

The Erie Playhouse is holding a Composer / Lyricist Concert for TWO NIGHTS ONLY (April 20 and 21, 2009). It is titled "Broadway 2000 and Beyond" and features musical numbers from the last decade of Broadway. Chris will be featured in two songs including Betrayed from "Mel Brooks': The Producers" (he recently performed this number in the successful Playhouse presentation of the show) and Dirty Rotten Number from "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," as well as appearing in others. It's only for TWO NIGHTS, $14 a ticket, and should be a great night of musical theater showstoppers.

[February 22, 2009]

Neil Simon's "The Prisoner of Second Avenue" opens at the All An Act
Theater. It is a great success and starts the second full season of this upstart theater with a bang. There were record breaking audiences during its second weekend.
FOUR performances remain; through March 1st!

[October 8, 2008]

Chris was recently cast as Father Virgil in Nuncrackers at the Erie Playhouse. It will open in December and run throughout the month. It's a great little Christmas romp with the little sisters of Hoboken. Don't miss this funny Nunsense sequel!

"The Producers" show photos added to The Gallery".
The run ends a huge success (with more online reviews than any other show in Erie Playhouse history).
Website review samples below:
"...Bucci plays Max to perfection!! His Betrayed was the best I have ever seen. He should be on Broadway!!!"

"...Bucci can draw you from the audience on to the stage...like no one else."

"...His [Bucci's] facial expressions mixed with his comedic timing is just too much! He kept me laughing the entire show! When he sings Betrayed I get goose bumps!"

"...Bucci was the best, and he really deserves an award for his lead role!"

"...Bucci was FANTASTIC! Entertaining and talented beyond words. A wonderful talent indeed. "

[September 11, 2008]

"The Producers" reviewed in Erie Times News:
"Local stage veteran Chris Bucci as Bialystock is playing the role for which he was born. He's up to every demand, projecting song lyrics in his throaty voice, rolling his expressive eyes, dancing nimbly, and handling physical shtick with aplomb. His plot-summarizing "Betrayed" is a dazzling tour de force."

[September 5, 2008]

Opening night of "The Producers" a HUGE success and makes headlines (front page of Erie Times News)!

[July 2008]

Chris was cast as the lead in and is currently in rehearsals for his favorite musical of all time (in one of his ultimate "dream" roles). Chris will play "Max Bialystock" in Mel Brooks' THE PRODUCERS that opens in September at the Erie Playhouse.

The Erie Playhouse is the first non-professional theater to attain the rights to and perform the show. It should be a great time and Chris is extremely excited (and honored) to play this iconic character.

Check out Chris' "just-for-fun" design he created for the show based on the original Broadway promotions.

Chris filmed two scenes for the independent short-film "Potstickers," by Jawn Gross. Chris plays Jake, a member of a small (and somewhat unsuccessful) rock-group who are working toward playing their "biggest gig ever" in Cleveland. However, their band's leader has a different, and somewhat crazy, idea on how to make some quick cash. Filming should be completed by August and the film released later this year.

The official Chris Bucci website is finally "up" (http://www.chrisbucci.com). Check back for more updates and information to be added soon.
