MY GAME

I received an e-mail tip from a friend who said a guy in California had a Banzai Run for sale. It needed some work but should clean up really well. Anyone who knows me is aware that I’m not a “mint condition" collector. I look for a game that, when shopped and repaired, will look and play great and be an above-average specimen of that particular machine.

After seeing numerous high-rez photos of this game, I knew it needed to be mine. The good news is, I got it for an extremely fair price and, once pounding in some money and time, it will pay-off considerably.

The cabinet on this machine is in pretty nice shape. No real fading to speak of, no missing artwork, no water damage or anything of that nature. There are some corners I would like to repair and some touchups to do. But, overall it’s a solid cabinet.

The playfield had horribly raised inserts which destroyed the mylar. When I first got the game, it played pretty well and I just could not help myself from pressing start many times. The raised inserts acted like ramps as the balls flew up into the glass. Wow……that needs fixed.

Two displays were bad. Or…..so it seemed. In reality, both were extremely beat-up and needed resoldering and some repair. They work good-as-new now. Wahoo!!!

Overall, everything is in great condition and will be awesome after some work! I got my Banzai now……’tiz mine and I’m happy!
